Literature Text
Raindrops sink into my socks
Soaking bottoms to the tops
Seeping through the numerous holes
In my shoes that lend the soles
To being stained in darker hues
Than post-storm, pre-storm shoe soles do.

scattered
We leave pieces of ourselves in the corners
Of bookshelves, stuck between the pages
And in the hand painted wooden bowl
Collecting dust and spare change.
My fingers grazed a fragment
When I saw a photograph of you today

Exult
Quick frissons of joy, like a harpist
on the planck scale.
The sun is out. All has
tunneled into green. I am

like the lambs in my mother’s field
I want to kick up my heels.
Spring wilds through me—-my marrow
puts forth flowers. Gold and springwater.
A little easy dopamine,
honey-suckle sweet, and look, God’s
got nothing on me.

Let me put in my humble peice
to the greater conversance.
Despite your talking over me
I will speak in defiance.
This is my introduction
This is simply me
No matter what comes later
I know who I will be.
Even if I whisper
I know what I am saying
I will not bend, nor break
I am standing and staying.
If you do not hear
I will still speak
and you may think you've found me
You must still seek
